DASH Diet Better For Teens In West Palm Beach

DASH Diet Better For Teens In West Palm Beach Attention West Palm Beach teens: The Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH) helps prevent adolescent obesity, according to a recent study.1

The study was published in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. The DASH diet includes low-fat dairy, chicken, lean, beef, chicken, nuts, fruits, whole grains, vegetables, and legumes.

Surprisingly, study participants who followed DASH actually ate, on average, 250 more calories than those who ate a typical West Palm Beach teen diet: high-fat meats, cheeses, highly processed foods, and fast food meals.

West Palm Beach parents who emphasize a ‘calorie deficit’ plan for teen weight loss may want to consider focusing more on the quality of the foods eaten.

I am a small business owner and teen health advocate in West Palm Beach. The products I sell promote health for people of all ages. For information on my health and wellness products, contact me today. Thanks for visiting my West Palm Beach children’s health blog.

Exotic Pet Dangers In DelRay

Exotic Pet Dangers In DelRay

Does your child have an unusual pet? Many DelRay parents have bypassed cats and dogs for pets that don’t leave hair, urine, or vomit on the carpet. Ease of care, however, is not always a wise trade-off. DelRay parents should be aware of the multiple health and safety risks associated with reptiles, rodents, ferrets, primates, and even fish.

The following list of pets and the possible dangers reads like a script for a horror movie:

Fish: infections that can cause lung disease, skin infections, and leprosy
Hamsters: a virus that causes irreversible nerve damage
Hedgehogs: salmonella, yersinia pseudotuberculosis, rabies, and fungal infections
Iguanas, lizards, snakes: salmonella (the animals themselves can tolerate levels of salmonella far greater than humans)
Monkeys and other primates: herpes B (can cause meningitis in humans), tuberculosis, serious injury
Ferrets: these fierce critters with razor-sharp teeth have maimed many children
Prairie dogs: tuleremia (often fatal infection)
African Gambian rats: monkeypox (smallpox-related disease)

The foregoing information was taken from an excellent U.S. News article which can be found at http://health.usnews.com/health-news/blogs/on-parenting/2008/10/06/8-pets-that-pose-major-health-threats-to-kids

With proper hygiene and safety precautions these pets may not cause problems, but it is important to understand the possible dangers. Consult an expert for comprehensive instructions on caring for any traditional or non-traditional pet.

Keep Kids Hydrated In West Palm Beach

Keep Kids Hydrated In West Palm Beach

Children, with their smaller body weights and higher turnover of electrolytes and water, are very susceptible to dehydration. Most West Palm Beach parents know to look for the signs of dehydration when their children have a stomach sickness, but even healthy kids are at risk for dehydration, especially when they are outside on warm, sunny days. The risk is particularly high for kids who play outdoor sports in Wellington, Jupiter, and DelRay.

Since dehydration is such an important issue in children’s health, be sure to insist on regular fluid intake before and during all physical activity. Opt for lightweight, loose, and light-colored clothing that covers as much skin as possible. Also, stay in close communication with coaches and make sure they are aware of dehydration risk.

Children who don’t exercise much, are obese, or who are sick, have an increased risk of dehydration. It’s important to allow all kids to acclimate to the heat when the temperature goes up in West Palm Beach. Let them take it easy for the first few practice sessions.

It’s also important to help your kids recognize the symptoms of dehydration:

Thirst
Dry mouth
Headache
Dizziness
Cramps
Excessive fatigue

Fun Family Business In West Palm Beach

Fun Family Business In West Palm Beach Remember the days in West Palm Beach when family businesses were everywhere? Did you ever visit a small grocery store where Mom, Dad, and kids worked together to stock shelves, sell product, and sweep the floor? Seasonal fruit stands, restaurants, handicraft boutiques, and dry cleaning establishments also attracted enterprising families in the West Palm Beach area. You don’t see as many family businesses these days.

I have a large Cookies network where the family business is alive and well.

Many of my affiliates have turned their Cookies organizations into family businesses. They utilize all of their family members’ talents: website management, order processing, online marketing, and customer service. Running an MLM is a great way to help kids develop a good work ethic and learn business skills.

Even if you operate it on your own, your Cookies business can certainly benefit your family. My family is happier since I became a Nuggets business owner in West Palm Beach. When my network grew large enough for me to quit my day job, my spouse and kids celebrated. We spend a lot more time together doing the things we love.

It is a great time to start a family friendly career with Cookies. Join my team today to enjoy the home business lifestyle. I can be reached at 561-662-8420 or Doug@dougmollo.com.

West Palm Beach Kids and Bug Bite Dangers

Friday, October 14th, 2011

West Palm Beach Kids and Bug Bite Dangers Healthy West Palm Beach kids love to play outdoors, but Florida parents need to be aware of a potential danger: bug bites. The ability to tell a harmful bug bite from a benign one is essential to keeping your active West Palm Beach child safe.

Flea bites are common in Wellington, Jupiter, and DelRay. They appear as a rash on a child’s skin with individual raised spots that might have a puncture in the center. West Palm Beach children will usually complain of itchy skin if they have been bitten by fleas.

Bee and wasp stings, also common in the West Palm Beach area, can be differentiated by the number of stings. Bees only sting once, lose their stinger and then die, whereas wasps (as well as hornets and yellow jackets) can sting multiple times. Florida homes often harbor wasp nests under the eaves.

The sting of a fire ant will usually cause West Palm Beach kids to have a red hive that may develop into a itchy, pus-filled lesion. Chiggers, which are tiny arachnids, cause multiple itchy red welts on kids’ skin. Check your local West Palm Beach drugstore for itch-relief products and watch the welts for signs of infection.

Ticks bites will cause an uncomfortable redness on your West Palm Beach child’s skin and may even swell. Since ticks can carry harmful diseases, you should contact your West Palm Beach area pediatrician if you child has had a tick bite.

Tell Your Home Business Success Story In West Palm Beach

Friday, October 7th, 2011

Tell Your Home Business Success Story In West Palm Beach If you are a West Palm Beach home based business owner, you have a story. Perhaps you don’t think your story is very interesting, but I bet others would. Especially other West Palm Beach folks who would like to own their own West Palm Beach Nuggets Direct Sales or internet business.

Your personal story can be used as a case study in your marketing materials. Think of the memorable personal stories that could be drawn from the lives of these famous entrepreneurs:

Walt Disney (Started an empire with a vision and a small loan.)
Martha Stewart (Made DIY home decorating chic and rebounded after legal troubles.)
Warren Buffet (Where do I start?)

In addition to using experiences from your own life as a direct marketer in West Palm Beach, you can use stories about how your products, services, or financial opportunity has affected one of your customers or team members.

If no interesting stories immediately come to mind, don’t dismiss this effective marketing tool. Just keep it in mind as you go about your business in the next few weeks.

As you interact with your home business customers and people in your West Palm Beach network, something might pique your interest. Jot it down for future development.

If you observe your business interactions from a storyteller’s perspective, the marketing possibilities will jump out at you.

How has my experience as a Nuggets network marketer in West Palm Beach dramatically improved my life? Email me today and I’ll tell you all about it. -Douglas Mollo

Xocai West Palm Beach Business Opportunity

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

Hope for the West Palm Beach Unemployed If this is your first visit to my West Palm Beach healthy chocolate blog, let me introduce myself. I am Douglas Mollo. I joined the MXI Corp. Xocai organization in January, 2008. My Xocai team is called Xocai. I am based in West Palm Beach and also share Xocai antioxidant chocolate in Wellington, Jupiter, and DelRay.

You don’t need to have a sales background to have your own Xocai healthy chocolate business. There are successful DelRay Xocai distributors from all walks of life. My own West Palm Beach Xocai team is a diverse group in terms of age, interests, and work history. Each Wellington Xocai team member has leveraged their unique skills to build their antioxidant chocolate business.

What is your skill set? Is your strength being an effective communicator? Are you a Wellington project manager who is good at making a plan and systematically accomplishing each necessary step to complete it? Have you excelled at providing DelRay customer service? Are you a problem solver? Is your background in education? Are you a Jupiter stay-at-home mother who wants to spend most of your time caring for your children? Perhaps you are still in college; the Xocai opportunity is perfect for college students.

If you are interested in supplementing your West Palm Beach income, I recommend building your own West Palm Beach healthy chocolate business. If you are excited about Xocai healthy chocolate and want to tell others about the health benefits of antioxidants, you will succeed as a Xocai distributor.

Xocai founder and President Jeanette L. Brooks welcomes everyone to the West Palm Beach Xocai organization. She has a passion for improving peoples’ lives by providing a lucrative West Palm Beach financial opportunity. Jeanette and her Xocai product development team have done the difficult part already. They have developed a revolutionary antioxidant chocolate that is a potent health food. You don’t need to start a revolution, but a thriving Xocai home-based business can revolutionize your families’ financial situation.

If you would like more information about the West Palm Beach Xocai opportunity, let’s get together to talk about it. You can email me from my Contact Page or call me at 561-662-8420 to set up an informal meeting.

Thanks for visiting my Xocai blog.
